The Culling.
Lucian seems to have a lot of issues with damage. One being his ult, one of the hardest skill shots to land in the entire game. I have never been a fan of "easy to play" champions, however I believe Lucian is quite hard to use effectively. I don't know if the idea to make a champion who required a ridiculously high skill cap to even attempt to play him efficiently. However, that is what it has come to. His ultimate has far to many cons than pros.
Being stuck in a set aiming position for an entire ultimate is a little unnecessary.
I understand that you can cast your dash inside the ult, however the counter mechanics to his ult are so simple it is not even worth casting.
I propose that Lucian's ultimate be changed; I honestly believe Lucian's ultimate should be a lock-on skill that can be blocked by allies of the enemy you are shooting as projectiles.
Why do I think this? First, his ultimate is named "The Culling", Culling means to
- To pick out from others; select.
- To gather; collect.
- To remove rejected members or parts from
In this you can see that his ultimate simply does not meet the definition. Now, looking past the definition, If his ult was a lock-on skill, It would allow him to have much greater playability. With his new lock-on, there would still be a large skill requirement in order to aim through in team-fights, however it would not be anywhere near the skill cap now. Now for balancing of this, I have not thought this idea through much but, keeping the current range as the lock on would seem seem to enough. Lucian can see the range his ultimate while using it and can dash forward if they attempt to escape it. If they run into the Fog of War or out of your vision, this is the issue I had when thinking of this, I suppose that he should just fire at the last know location if they leave his line of view until they re-enter(Due to wards, or Lucian chasing them)
I am not 100% sure my idea will work, I am not even sure if anyone will read this. But for the people that do read it, please help improve this idea or point out major flaws in it. I would like Riot to see this and maybe even consider thinking about implementing it. (Chances of that are like winning the lottery.....twice.....)
