Toxic Bans? Think about it "thoroughly"
Let’s have a mature, reasonable discussion about toxic bans. IN GAMES, I can control my character to attack others, to steal buffs/kills, to go anywhere, but I cannot control MY CHARACTER to SPEAK (freely)?
We all agree the tribunal system is not perfect, and the rules are vague. “if you have nothing good to say, don’t say it” is basically a dumb word by riot. First of all, you don’t know if the word will stimulus good result, which is depended on others personality, so how do you know if the word is good?? Secondly, why not? Can you guarantee EVERY MOVE you do in game is “good”? so I am reported because I SAID something that is NOT GOOD? So if a 0/12/1 player takes my red buff, can I report? Because it is obviously NOT A GOOD ACTION.
You guys get it? All of these BEHAVIORS are categorized as ACTIONS. Players in game can decide to go here or there. To attack or NOT attack. It’s basically characters making actions. Not like I am talking to you, and flame you as who you are, as a person. It’s funny how offensive language is a CRIME for riot. Even ctrl+4 can be offensive to someone. People feel uncomfortable for what I SAID, (e.g. “haha loser”) reported for toxic People feel uncomfortable for what I DO, (e.g. ctrl4 killing him, stealing buffs, dancing on dead body, flash for no reason just to humiliate) but this is ok? How??
I do support muting people, and for extreme case, chat restriction. But bans are definitely too much for an imperfect tribunal system and the vague rules that are applying to it.
Who even came up with the idea to BAN “flaming” when the mute botton is already there? So you’re saying people all agree that “toxic, flaming, teasing, bad manner” (whatever you want to call it) is a serious CRIME that is equivalent to “feeding, scripting, cheating, hacking the server, DDOS the system, or even worse, illegally getting RP and use it…etc” I have never heard from other servers, that any of them BANS PLAYERS FOR TOXIC. Seriously, are RIOT’s rules superior than the laws? I can’t have my freedom of speech? I cant say “hey you suck” when you actually suck? I mean why not? If I am not making up lies to defame you as a person, I am pretty sure I do have the right to say so. Bans are like capital punishment, and you think flaming is so severe? Feel free to discuss here.
