tethering question

If I play ranked on my home pc and sometimes play normals or arams on my tethered laptop while not at home, could my account be caught up on the mmr boosting bans or does the system have a way to tell that it's still me playing? I read about someone else claiming they got banned for mmr boosting from tethering.

If you're mainly playing aram on your laptop, i wouldn't it. It's really geared towards ranked play. If all of the sudden (since you sometimes play ranked) your ranked game count goes up and you're rapidly moving up the latter on a computer that doesn't typically run your account (like a friends comp), then you would become a suspect of that. But since you're constantly using both I wouldn't worry about it, especially since you sometimes play ranked.
