The easiest way to transit from support to another role

Hello I've been playing league for over a year and a bit (sincd season 5) and while I was leveling up I'd often get invited by acquaintances for games when I was level 20+ and they were level 30 and ranked and I'd often do a fool figure of myself, so I decided that aggressive lanes weren't for me and simply stuck to the support role, playing the easy "no skill champs" like Sona, Janna or Morgana.

The issue I faced once hitting level 30 and after deciding to play ranked was that playing support wasn't exactly leading me that far, mostly because I had a bad understanding of the game while learning it and was often made fun of my mistakes but never taught otherwise until I started playing ranked where I had people specifically pointing out the mistakes I was doing.

In my first season I got placed in silver 3 playing 80% of the games support, next season though, I got placed in bronze 5 where I struggled a lot more to climb, and had to duo a lot with new acquaintances and friends to get out, later finishing in silver 5. During the hard climbing I learned more and noticed that I developed better support senses, warding more, prioritizing sighstone over other items and even expanded my support pole from healers to tanks and damage dealers like Zyra, Brand, Leona etc.

This season I started at bronze 4 with a 50% win ratio and 60% on both Janna and Sona due to the new itemization for supports, but after a while my win rate dropped and a friend told me to just go mid. Despite my still weak mid lane mechanics, I played very utility based champios like Lux or Orianna, and finally got to silver like that, But now I am more and more eager to learn other champions mid and even go for other lanes but my playstyle doesn't fit the one of a carry, since I've been always a very passive type of support player and I've always played mid under tower, farming and trading whenever I felt I could win trades and waiting ganks.

I want to develop a more aggressive but still safe playstyle and play new champions that can fit me, and since I do better with mage type champions I would like to know if there's any other way to move from a role to another or playing other champions that aren't my style. Basically I want to know if I can change my support mindset to one of a carry mindset.

There is no method to transitioning that will make it easier, just pick what you like and just spam the hell out of practicing it.

I'm a support main who started out the same way you did, and has the same playstyle (more passive and safe) and I'm currently trying to learn other roles(definitely not the easiest transition, especially since I've been on a hiatus for the past two years). All you can really do is spam them in normals until you feel confident enough to take them into ranked. Just practice, and eventually you'll be able to pick another role with confidence. It helps to have another player play with you and point out what you did wrong or what you could have done different, etc.
