This Community Is Not Bad

I'm a pretty firm believer that the community has very few bad people in it, and they may be a vocal minority while the rest are good people who may have a few bad games every now and then.

Then, I had a friend start playing the game, and a few weeks ago he experienced his first pvp game of League. This game tested my faith in the community. Our support Leona kept disconnecting and said she "had 600 ping". After a while, the Leona disconnected and never came back, then our adc and our jungler also quit the game. My friend and I were left to try to defend against a 5-man push from the enemy team, and my friend was disheartened saying things like "so this is what pvp is like" and "I can see why so many people rage in pvp now."

I was so disappointed and I was trying to tell him that it is a very rare occurrence to have THREE teammates disconnect from the game. The futility of the game was overwhelming for him, though, and I could not lift his spirits. The enemy team was finishing off our nexus towers while my friend and I were still stubbornly trying to defend with three inhibitors down and superminions surrounding us. Then, the last tower fell and there were so many superminions that the enemy team could just step back and watch the game end. But, when they stepped back, they weren't watching. The camera darts to the enemy nexus, showing it explode with a victory screen for my friend and I.

My friend was shocked asking me what happened and how we won. "They surrendered! They took pity on us, and gave us the win!" Many thanks and honours were given to the enemy team. I remember this game clearly weeks later, and it still brings me joy. Thank you League of Legends players for enforcing my faith in this community! :)

Nami The community is what you believe it to be. If you are looking for positives you will find plenty of them, if you are looking for a negative experience you will find it. Negative experiences tend to stay with you longer and are harder to fight off while positive experiences are waning and tend to slowly fall off anyways. You have to make an effort to be positive (this is with all things in life).

I w as actually i a game once - it was a really close game and we had been chatting and one of my allies had mentioned it was his final promo to get into gold, and when the enemy was about to win, three of the people on the other said things like 'enjoy being in gold, congratulations!' and then a surrender vote came through.

I have a ton of positive stories I could share about the community... but it takes a lot more effort to remember the good simply because we naturally remember bad things more than good.

In games like that and I'm on the 5-man side I just don't push lanes and actually try to have a funny/nice conversation with the people who stayed. at that point it's not a game anymore, so I try to at least make an effort for people not to feel their time was wasted too much. I have also given them the win that same way if they're not raging and actually trying to have fun as well. It's only happened twice so far but I enjoyed the chance.

I've had more people tell to me to eat a bleach covered dick than my mother tells me to clean my room.

My friends and I love to surrender when we are stomping people. Not because we are taking pity on them, we do it because it's funny as fuck.

Imo this is the worst community I've ever played With. If riot wasn't such an amazing Company I wouldn't still be here.

Ok, well for the most part I feel the community is horrible. The people are terrible. Every once in a while I play with decent human beings. It's gotten so bad I think I may just quit playing it altogether.
