Those annoying auto-lockers!!

We have many players who simply choose to not play ranked that still love the PvP non-ranked 5v5 Normal Blind Pick and love the competition. The competition of this game is why I believe it is so highly regarded. And is also why i believe League of Legends is officialy the most played PC game in North America and Europe, according to data from Xfire, a very popular gaming service with 23 million registered users.

I strive towards competitiveness of the many games I play in 5v5 non-ranked PvP. And when the competition for these games are low it takes so much away from the gameplay, clearly we see this from how intense the ranked seasons are.

Many times I have queued into champion selection and other players will have already chosen their champion, often multiple players, giving myself and other players an unfair chance to distinguish proper and fair roles for all. Forcing some players to pick champions and/or roles they may be unfamiliar or unskilled with, making the game unfair. This causes anger and frustration for players, further lowering the quality of the game. And it takes away from the competition and ultimately takes away from the game.

I want to propose an idea that could salvage these potential non-competitive, unfair, and irritable games.

****Riot, if you would add a feature that could disable locking champions for first 30 seconds of the game, allowing players to establish what roles they could work out that would fit them all suitably.

****Another feature, If player were to queue into champion selection where another player would auto-lock a champion, and 4 of 5 players believed the game would be unfair or non-competitive due to the auto-locking player's decision, they should be able vote against the game; if 4 of 5 players on either team vote against a game, all player should return to searching for a match with no time penitently.

(Disable for parties of 4)

Yes, this could make searching for a game longer, but there is no amount of time that can replace the joy of an intense, competitive, and friendly game with your choice of champion. These fixes could further cement League of Legends as the best multiplayer online battle arena game, ever.

I love League of Legends, I have played since season 1 and I am astounded on how much Riot has improved the game over the years, as I've always found it perfect. I will continue to play League of Legends for as no game compares to the elegance and nature of the gameplay, regardless of whether you take you take my proposal into consideration or not.

Please help the the experience of fellow summoners reach its full potential!

I like this idea of having a 30-second period where nobody can lock in, but I feel like people would still find ways of abusing it. If somebody is hell-bent on playing Teemo, he's just going to lock after 30 seconds anyway. It might even cause some frustrations if multiple players did this, because if a good portion of your team just locks after the 30 seconds, you might find yourself with three bruisers and two supports. You'd still be screwed.

I think summoners should select what roles they are willing to play BEFORE joining queue--that way they only get paired up with a team that needs that role (or roles). Maybe this has been suggested before, I don't know, but I think it would work nicely.

The only trade-off is that after certain champs are released or reworked (cough Nasus cough) and suddenly ten zillion people want to play the same position (top lane) the wait for them to join a game might be considerably larger than current average waits.

That's my opinion anyway...but I'd definitely agree that something should be done to at least require more communication before starting the game besides the typical:

Summoner 1: MID

Summoner 2: mid plz

Summoner 3 joined the room

Summoner 3: I'M MID, Y'ALL

Summoner 2: wtf dude, i'm mid

Summoner 1: NO, I CALLED

Summoner 4: facepalm

Summoner 5: slow claps

But I suppose Riot has their work cut out for them. It's hard to know exactly how people might go about abusing a system that isn't yet implemented.

The first 30 seconds are indeed a key time in matches like that, but as many others have said, you will still have people that lock after the 30 seconds are up.

As for the voting to disband a match, I love this idea! the only think is to make sure to balance it for pre-made groups. Honestly, I think it should be for matches where there are no more than 2 players that are pre-made only. As for ranked, even if there is a duo, their 2 votes won't be able to outright control the votes, so I would find that okay. I hope this idea gets implemented so we have less people arguing about who should dodge and suffer the punishment because of one toxic player or autolocker

As much as I love these idea's and would actually suggest them myself, I wanted to point out some issues.

Not everyone has to play according to the meta, I'm guessing Riot wants all players to try new roles, and team make up. Not just the ones the Europeans or the Koreans pick (Simply because they are "pro") Team chemistry and teamwork is more likely to lead to a win over having a grumpy team following the meta.
