Welcome back... here's what you've missed:
Every pro team except cloud nine looks nothing like you remembered(Scarra's on CLG now btw). The new Summoner's Rift is live and looking good. Team Builder is live(not 100% sure if this was in the past 6 months so forgive if I'm wrong here ;)) Koreans won S4, not that anyone is surprised... but the team that won DID lose at least 1 game to a non-Korean team. Both North American teams that made it to worlds beat a Korean team. Riot has essentially automated all forms of behavioural punishment although they ARE manually reviewing the punishment cases for toxic behaviour(which has made punishments for negative behaviour much quicker, and thus far there haven't been many false positives which surprised and pleased me). Riot has released a really poorly thought out update to their leaverbuster system that is punishing people far too harshly for things beyond their control, so be happy you have a new computer - hopefully it'll be working properly so you can avoid getting caught by it! Riot's champ design team seems to be getting better. Kalista was a really cool idea, and this new champ that's in design looks awesome. Everyone and their neighbor has a knockup or knockback now.
