Who to main?
So I currently main Garen... 
Not really the best champion... And I was wondering if anyone knew a good champion to transition to from Garen

Darius would be the easiest transition for you. Darius is the Noxian version of Garen's kit. Has a spin move, and a point and click execute. But Darius has more kill potential. Darius' passive is the exact opposite of Garen's (bleeds enemies instead of self healing), and Darius has more CC than a solo target silence. Darius has a slow and a grab and Darius shreds through armor too. But the trade off with more damage and CC is less defense and less mobility. Darius also got a slight rework about a year ago which gave him a heal on his decimate (spin) ability giving him better lane sustain. Try him and see if you like him.
If you enjoy a more aggressive style look into Renekton, Illaio, Sion, Cho'Gath, Riven and Olaf. All of whom are AD bruisers (except Cho'gath) who bully their enemy into backing before them or they outright kill their opponent. If you do not like Darius because he isn't durable enough then you may want to try out Maokai, Trundle, Shen, Zac or Mundo. Or if you want to stay top lane and play something that is ranged the typical choices include Teemo, Jayce, Quinn, Swain, Urgot and Vladimir.
