Ranked Queue System Requirements/Restrictions
After being in numerous ranked games where people claim to have 2k latency or other issues preventing smooth gameplay, I'm curious how many people would support a system stability check and if Riot would be willing to consider implementing such a system. The key points of the system would be as follows:
- A system that monitors connection stability or in-game system stability for framerate consistency and ping consistency and magnitude.
- If a player is determined to have a framerate below a certain amount (probably decided by studies or community) assist their team or has a measured latency which significantly reduces their ability to assist their team, then they will be restricted from entering ranked play until their system meets the specified criteria.
- During the lockout period, the player will be allowed to queue in all non-ranked game formats.
- The sytem will continue monitoring system performance during the non-ranked games.
- Once the player's system is within tolerance, the ranked restriction will be removed and the player will be allowed to enter ranked queues.
- No penalties or minor penalties would be imparted on offending players.
The objective of the system is to help curb player dis-satisfaction from being on teams with players who fail to properly monitor their playing environment. While players should monitor these metrics on their own, many players chose to ignore these factors and subject other players to the rammifications.
I'm curious to find out what the rest of the community thinks of this issue and if Riot would be willing to address it.
