I always wondered why not add a voice chat feature. It would be extremely helpful in solo queues. THis would improve the games experience by allowing teammates to talk strategically. Hey in my opinion i wouldn't mind paying a monthly/yearly fee. Just a thought since brand new season implement brand new things/ideas to expand the games features.

Because then you have one of the most toxic gaming communities I've ever experienced being able to vocally berate and abuse one another. Unfortunately, the League of Legends community seems incapable of behaving in a well mannered and adult fashion. So the idea of having to listen to a bunch of immature people insult me while I'm trying to enjoy the game is distasteful to say the least. On top of that, the fact that there is not monthly or yearly cost to play League is easily one of the games most attractive features. Requiring a fee of any sort is going to see a significant hit in player base, and I don't believe Riot is willing to risk that just to implement a feature that has been vocally protested quite a bit amongst the community and will lead to even more toxicity (which Riot makes large measurements to act against).

It's solo queue people won't listen even if there's voice chat. Pings and in-game chat are more than enough to communicate strats (granted you can't really adjust on the fly, which is the big weakness). During your League experience, have people always listened when someone pings for something, or types in chat to go to an objective, etc? There's always that one person who doesn't listen because he wants to do wolves or something, isn't there?

Voice chat isn't why people don't communicate well in solo queue. Pro teams who play together a lot have trouble communicating/leadership issues. There's no fix for solo queue communication. You just try to get your team to do something and hope they listen.

Voice chat really won't help these issues.

riot has stated they're not going to do VO-IP. not in the foreseeable future for the reasons stated below: toxicity - impossible to moderate/regulate.

it's not worth it. pings work great. i just wish there was a - ward here - ping.
