Demoted to Silver after NA Server problems.

I was playing a game while at 0 LP in Gold V when the servers started acting up. Everybody in my game was complaining, reddit posts were being made, and even friends in separate games had been disconnecting. It got to a point where my entire team could not move, and theirs managed to get clicks off on our towers. We lost immediately after disconnecting, and I was sent back to Silver I. I really think that this deserves to be a loss prevented, so I'll play it safe by not playing further until I am responded to.

I was in my Promos to get into Plat 5 and 3 of us had connection issues and only 1 of them had the same problem... It was not my internet/router/modem/computers fault and i believe Rito should do lose prevention We were not in the lead but we were making a comeback and the Rito decides to screw us out of our chances to win

One loss doesn't get you demoted from Gold to Silver. You have to have an MMR that puts you in the range of low silver first.

You should probably read the post and not just the title.

I did. Would you have made the post if you weren't demoted from the loss?

If you're Gold 5, and you lose a game at 0 LP, you get demoted to Silver 5. This has nothing to do with MMR/Elo, he had server issues attached to Riots servers not him, and lost his game/got demoted. They may or may not enable loss forgiveness but it still isn't his fault.

You have to lose lots of games to get demoted between full ranks. I'm not saying it's his fault, just that the one time it's clearly out of his control had little impact on the actual demotion. It's the straw that broke the camel's back.

  1. I got a loss prevented for a game that I played 3 hours ago. Had some server problems, didnt lose any LP. Not sure whats up with the OP's situation.

  2. If youre gold 5, you need a streak of quite a few losses at 0LP to get demoted. Because if you win a game, you get LP again. You need to lose that LP then lose a few more in order to actually get demoted. I havent heard or experienced of anybody losing a game to get to 0 LP, losing the next game, then getting demoted off those two games. Ive only experienced a 3-4 game losing streak once I was at 0LP to go from Silver1 to Silver 2 last season.

This one loss may not be his fault and maybe he shouldnt have been demoted for it, but im thinking it would have happened anyway. Even though this might have been the game that got him demoted, he was well on his way before that. Even not counting the last game, he won 3 out of 17 ranked games in the last week. With a sub 20% winrate at the bottom of Gold 5, i think a demotion was inevitable.

That is so wrong. One loss at 0 LP doesn't guarantee demotion. MMR below the standard of the rank whilst losing at 0 LP does.

Looks like you'll have to pay that elobooster some more money.

Looked at your match history... You were definitely headed for a demotion. Yes, it's unfortunate that the match that demoted you was the one where the server was acting up, but I wouldn't go as far as blaming that on why you got demoted. It takes a significant amount of losses to get demoted between major ranks, ie. gold to silver.

With that being said, you're better off just playing and getting back to Gold instead of waiting for a response from Riot (which you probably won't get one). Going from Silver 1 to Gold V should easily be doable in 1-3 days depending on your luck with teams.
