Idea AND Feedback: Let us solo queue players go into ranked solo queue and not have to deal with duo

I have a dream

That one day nobody will be forced to deal with stuff like this

That one day when I press that button to queue for ranked it won't say "Yes, yes this match looks just fine. Send it through."

This is not acceptable. This is not fun. This is not competitive. This is just an insult to 8 people that hit solo queue and didn't expect to go up against somebody OVER AN ENTIRE RANKING BRACKET higher than them.

I feel ya. However, lets be honest. If there was a feature to avoid duo queues in ranked, would you ever turn it off if you were solo queue?

Chances are you, and the majority of people, would not. Which in the end would only screw with the duo queues, and if it applied to normals, then quad queues are SoL, and all but solo's and 5 man premades are effected negatively.

Catering to solo players in this way hurts the game more than it helps it. I think the real issue with duo's are duo queuers with high difference in rank (like your example, d3 and b4) Duo queues of similar rank will not really effect performance that much, as they might have gotten paired together anyways if they solo queued. When the disparsity between ranks happen, you will see games like this one.

Perhaps if you could propose a solution that would address this specific problem, without negatively impacting the game, then you could have a discussion about it.

I think the biggest concern should be the fact that a Bronze player can Queue with a Platinum player I can understand 2 MAYBE 3 league differences (Silver 1 and a silver 4) together but Bronze 4 to Plat 3??

How about when two people duo queue together in ranked matchmaking doesn't look at both of their MMRs to find the match, but instead only takes the highest one and puts it in the pool. You can duo with your friend, if bronzie the bear wants to play with other raging plats.

So instead of "lolol this high ranked guy gets to shit all over people that don't know better" it's "Oh man, I sure hope my fellow plats don't chew me out for bringing in the bronzer"

Well, then you simply moving the problem to the higher ranks. I get that in theory, it should discourage duo queueing, but realize their are certain high ranked players who loose LP even if they win when others in the game are too lowly rated. This could have sizable effects on the matchmaker.

They could also do what that other guy said and just put a limit between the MMR (NOT visible rating) that people can queue at. You know, like in Ragnarok Online you have a party share limit to get experience. Just give a little warning that says "Your Matchmaking Rating difference is too high to queue together."

Honestly, anything is better than letting stuff like this happen.

I actually am a fan of this idea, but Riot has probably thought of this before. Thing is, they want to encourage playing with your friends. My thoughts are that its ok to do so, but if you aren't a high enough rank, you have to do that in normals. Considering Normal draft is a thing now, I see no reason why not.

There are several other game modes you can play with your friends in though. It doesn't have to be ranked ruining other peoples matches.
