Hextech?!?!

Today I bought 20 euro worth hextech boxes... And yet...I am concerned about what I found. I found some skins of a mediocre level and champs...a lot of champs... Ofc in the end I didn't "lose" any money. By my calculations I found stuff worth my 20 euro and yet I'm not so happy. I think that i will use hextech crafting only for ingame rewards. I don't think I will spend any more money on it as much as I spend on mistery gifts... Plus I don't understand why I can buy only normal boxes (small blue ones) and not the purple ones that obviously contain more and better stuff... :/

What do you think about it guys? Did anybody make some serious calculations about this crafting mode, and if it really worth? Or should I keep with the old style gifing mode?
