last season i was plat 4 - this season i go 6-4 in placements and i get placed in gold 4. Are you serious. How does this even happen.

Why would you not do your placements immediately after season begins? You wait until your mmr decays to nothing lol. Rekt
MMR doesn't decay, only LP. Your MMR was already low for your division. With the MMR soft reset (about 2-3 division's worth) on top of that plus 4 losses put you a full tier lower in MMR.
If you don't want to get placed in a lower division with the new season, you have to get your MMR a little higher than your division before the season starts.
If you are in a high rank and your LP decays for you to get demoted, your MMR will still be up there so when you play you'll get more LP.
Was plat 2 with some 50 LP or something. Went 5-5 in placements, and got put in gold 3. WTF
