question about rewards

I guess this is on the right board. I have a question in regards to the icon for the alpha testers. You have to log into the alpha to obtain it according to the patch notes, but I was under the impression that the alpha client is currently down until beta kicks off? This is verified by the fact that I can't open the alpha client right now. So my question is how am I supposed to get my icon if I can't log into the alpha to get it? Maybe there's a common sense answer the this that I'm just not seeing, but it has me all kinds of confused :/
