Can't Spectate games in new client
So I went to spectate a friend's game today in the new client, but I'm unable to. You click "spectate" and nothing happens. I enjoyed this feature I hope they're not taking it away. Anyone else having this issue ?

I've seen a number of people complain about this and no one has seem to come up with an answer or resolution. I'm having the same issue as well. I can't imagine that they would remove this feature and leave the option available, so my only guess is that it's being ironed out in the new Beta.
BTW you can still load the old client. After hitting launch on the bottom right it will give a option to "Launch Legacy Client".
restart the client it worked for me... if not try the repair option in launch screen. (sorry for bad english but you get the drift)

i cant spectate too on new client and my spectate option look with diferent colour, like grey.
I'm also having the same problem.
That being said, clicking the "Launch Legacy Client" fixed it and I was able to spectate the game.

I BELIEVE ITS JUST THE BETA, PROB GONNA HAVE IT WHEN ITS THE MAIN CLIENT
I can't spectate either. I've tried opening the legacy client but as soon as i get passed the login, it locks my whole computer up. cant move my mouse, cant bring up task manager. nothing. end up having to manually shut down my computer and restart it. this happens every time i try to open the legacy client. on a side note whenever i play on the new client i have alot of issues w/ ping spike in game. anyone else having this issue? ive done all of the usual things to try and correct this. but my comp/ router/ internet are all fine and i have no issues playing any games other than LOL.

So at first the home screen wouldn't load or anything. my game is still patching, because its patching I wanted to just watch a friend play. It took me longer than usual to go to the spectate option and when I finally selected it BOOM!!! nothing happened. Gonna let the patching finish up and ting and then try again.
Im totally having this issue. I can't spectate anyone's game, it's frustrating cause my friend says he's dominating and i wanna see if he's fr or not.
So I found a way around this, you can go to na.op.gg and spectate live games from there. You have to download a spectator client, but it should work.
I found a solution, rather than launching LeagueClient.exe, I'm launching the old "lol.launcher.admin.exe". The same client new UI is launched, but now I have the "Spectate" available and working fine. Cheers.

another reason this new client is shit and not tested thoroughly

I am also unable to spectate. maybe it will be restored when they fix the ranked que's also?
go to op.gg search your friend's name. find "live game". download the file then spectate.
