I don't understand why some of yall are sooo fixated on your rank. Like if you are in silver the game becomes more fun? And gold is even more fun? Then Plat+ to diamond must be lol heaven? Where everyone has perfect Kda every game?... No, lemme give you "A for effort" generational kids a reality check. The skill gaps for each tier is painfully noticeable. Trust me if your in bronze/silv-gold or w.E you are placed in is because you are where u belong.

Like the great rockie said. You ain't where you are because of this guy or that guy. Cowards blame others. Can you imagine in a pro interview of any sport where they said the only reason they lost was because of someone else? Learn to be humble or the cold reality of life will.

In bronze to gold 1+ ppl make mistakes back and forth, when you get higher elo you get absolutely dumpstered for the tiniest mechanical / positional error. I'd be willing to bet my bottom dollar all you "bronze" but secretly Plat can't even perfectly cs the first 3 creep waves in the game. Please do yourself and everyone else a favor. Be real. The only goal every person in solo q should be to get better. Not a stupid border and random numbers that say you are. /rant

I don't mean to be rude, but this post is just petty and meaningless.

People are whining because it is a shock to drop so far in rank without understanding the reason. Not everyone who plays ranked reviews Riot's news pages often enough to see the VERY BRIEF mention of the fact that they were doing a soft reset.

It's a big achievement to rise in rank. It makes you feel good. I was really proud when I hit plat after two seasons of work, it was awesome. It felt really good.

Now I haven't done my placements, and I probably never will(since I don't play anymore), but I imagine if I didn't know about the soft reset and I went like 6-4 or 7-3 and ended up in silver or lower, I'd be really upset over it because it'd make it feel like all that hard work was gone. It'd be a shock, and it'd suck.

The whining is completely reasonable, in this case, since Riot didn't properly publicize the soft reset or explain the exact details of what it was likely to mean for people.

I jungle so I can certainly say I can perfectly cs the first 3 waves of creeps, or should I say camps? xD.

Now speaking honestly, the placement is quite unfair, you have lots of people that want bronze for their youtube channels, lots of people with several games already and with bad ratio, and several try hards that ragequit after 5 min of game. The placements is where all of this are more active since they believe this will be the year. Just because you are placed on bronze doesn't mean you belong to bronze you can climb up if you really doesn't belong there. I have been placed on bronze 4 for the past 2 seasons, i have climbed all the way up to silver 1, I never make it to gold but is mostly because my reflexes are quite bad (can't dodge something when it already hit you when you saw it). I miss around 3-4 cs on the first 3 waves which isn't perfect but since I'm not aiming to professional it should be enough.

My post was not meant to be rude or condescend anyone. It's just I'm normally a forum purker but the recent threads on the soft reset just made me want to say wat was on my mind. Take what I say with a grain of salt.

I'm just trying to help ppl to get in the mindset of improving. Rather than find excuses on why they aren't where they should be. Yes there's smurf. Yes there's trolls. But you're delusional if you think it's only you. And more delusional if you think they are the reason you're held back.

I agree with you. The ranks are there for a reason. If you're Bronze, it's because you're supposed to be. And even IF it was a mistake, you should be able to make it out easily.
