So let me start by saying last season i was in Silver IV and my friend was in Gold II or III i believe, and now i just completed my 10 games to get placed i'm left wondering how the placement works because he and i both won 7/10 games yet he gets placed in Gold II and i'm back in Silver IV, am i missing something here?

In that case, it's because his mmr last season was much greater than yours. This reset still places you at around you orignial rank last season, unless you do extremely well (10 wins) or extremely bad (

Yeah i feel like the MMR is like more that 80% of what's looked into when placing. I've only just started playing ranked. and out of my 10 placement games i won 8 of them so i don't understand how that lands me in Silver 2

JRRÐ1 votesWell i won 7/10 games and my performance was a lot better than my friends, had good K/D and great team plays but i guess that doesn't mean squat in the eyes of the riot gods who say i'm unworthy of a spot in gold. sigh

I am pretty sure that you WON'T go higher than where you were left of last season. The best you could be placed would be where you were.

Well then that makes no sense to me, because i was under the impression that you basically started at the bottom and were placed based on how well you did in your 10 games, but if it places me exactly or around where i was last season then what is really the point of the 10 games if i'm just gonna get placed right back where i was?

Yea most people get placed where they were but again, it's always possible someone goes 10/0 or 0/10 and get placed much higher or lower. But that doesn't happen for most people xD
