Launcher won't open?

So after the servers were brought back up, I tried to get online. The only problem is that the League client won't open, let alone start up. I uninstalled the game and completely wiped all of my files of LoL on the comp and it still isn't working. Game won't even begin to start launching so I can't even figure out what the problem is.

I went on Gamefaqs, and found a forum where people are having the same issue: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/954437-league-of-legends/73482928

Any thoughts?

EDIT: I found the solution that worked for me at this gamefaqs thread: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/954437-league-of-legends/73482813#9

Here is the solution: fixed if anyone needs help you can either do two things

  1. go to lol file>rads>projects>delete launch and patch files should be at the bottom>relaunch with admin

  2. if that doesnt work make sure your virus scanner didn't block it if it did go to avast>setting>go down to exclusions and click the file path for what ever avast is blocking in my case it was the lol patcher that I deleted

"That works for now, if it comes back, here is what to do:

  1. Launch Avast!
  2. Go to scan->scan for viruses
  3. At the bottom there is a 'quarantine'
  4. Select the last "Lolux" file and hit "restore and add to exclusions"
  5. Close Avast!
  6. Start LoL." - some dude i forgot the name

Exact same problem.

And removing it from the virus chest in Avast didn't work either.

I can't take credit for this, someone else posted it.

  1. Launch Avast!
  2. Go to scan->scan for viruses
  3. At the bottom there is a 'quarantine'
  4. Select the last "Lolux" file and hit "restore and add to exclusions"
  5. Close Avast!
  6. Start LoL.

I found a solution to this problem that might be overlooked. So The launcher wouldn't open, the badge would flash then go away and nothing would open. Uninstall reinstall no work System restore No work - And that uninstalled things down to me missing NVidia drivers (All your files are exactly where you left them!) Nothing to do with antivirus on my end, (Uninstalled again, uninstalled the Microsoft Distrib that came with initial install) RAN INSTALLER AS ADMINISTRATOR WHEN REINSTALLING. SUCCESS.

I don't know why but I wasted like a day on this and feel like people deserve to know it might be a viable solution.

In short -> A lot of things didn't work, Reinstalling as Admin seems to have fixed it for some reason. But like -> Right click Run as administrator on the install file type deal Being logged in to an admin account won't cut it.
