Lenovo Y40 Any better suggestions?

OK, so I'm looking for a new laptop and the best I managed to find is the Y40.

I will be using it mostly for school (listening to lectures and taking notes) but I would also be able to game and watch movies on it as well.

Are there any better laptops that are under $1000 out there?

A big key factor is also weight, I'm looking for something under 2.3kg.
