Hello! I am very close to playing my first 10 promotion games and I am looking for any theories out there. Like I've heard that the first game you get matched with golds and depending on the outcome of that game you play with lower or higher ranking people. Does anyone know of anything like this that has been proven?
If you haven't played ranked before your Base MMR is Silver 3 (1200) it will rise or fall from there.
it really isnt worth playing ranked right towards the end of the season unless you are already ranked because your rank will go down by a about half a tier when reset (thats if you go even or do well in provisionals for next season)
the reason being that once you are ranked for a season it plays a part in how you will be placed for the next season but it is IMPOSSIBLE to rank higher than platinum meaning that all the diamond, master, and challenger players will be placed in plat and it moves the deviation down. (plat players are gold, gold players are silver, so on and so forth)
so unless you are actually good at this game i'd wait until next season to start ranked

Don't play ranked this season, it's not worth it, you will go against smurphs, and premades, premades being the number one killer of competitive integrity of the game. They will have voice chat, and you won't.
Honestly how can you take rank serious when it doesn't account for AFK's, D/C's, Laggers, trolls, intentional feeders, run it down midders etc, until the system can account for that, ranked means absolutely nothing besides the fact that you spent more of your life on a video game which i am not sure is something to really brag about.
I hate when people pull the ranked card, like "Stay in silver/gold scrub". Well thanks for pointing out that i don't play ranked? Good job? I guess? lmao.... this community is so stupid it's hilarious.
