Gemstones for the Event

Riot, why not make it possible for gemstones to unlock an augment cache? Perhaps two gemstones for one augment cache.

I feel that gemstones at the moment don't have much value. I mean, you either get a free chest and key with it or you grind out and hope for 10 stones (which I highly doubt the majority of the playerbase will do).

Having the augment cache or future rewards included in the value of gemstones would make them a little more exciting to get. At the moment it's like, "oh... a gemstone...I guess I'll take a free chest and key" (after 4 months of playing for loot-give or take). It's great to have that option, I just think having more options would make it even better.
