Does anyone get put on Purple/Red side when playing Intermediate AI anymore?

I remember it being added a long time ago that you could end up on either side when playing vs bots, but recently me and some friends noticed when we played it we'd always be put on blue side. Are we just lucky and getting blue side every time, or is nobody else getting purple side and its bugged?

I did bot games fairly regularly during the school year (gotta get that first win), and I played I remember playing on both sides, so it has happened to at least five people in the last three months.

It may be possible, though. Back when dominion was still a thing, I played on the east side 80% of the time.
