@Whoever is working on the Nasus VU...

I'm copying/pasting this from a thread I opened at the original forums.

Nasus is supposed to be an intelligent and calm librarian...

He is not supposed to be Aatrox.

He sounds too aggressive on his new quotes and his auto attack gruntings are beyond excessive and annoying. He sounds somewhat generic, with all that filter and whatnot, reminding too much of Aatrox. Don't get me wrong, it sounds good, but generic. Not like it was before.

To top it off, his dance is completely out of place and weird. Honestly, it is pretty horrible. Give him his old dance. Why are you changing it in the first place? Don't give me the resources excuse, because there is no way the egyptian dance is harder to make than this goofy harlem shake.

Why are you killing so much of a champion's identity? I don't like this at all. For me, this is pretty sad...

Agreed! The new Nasus VU is too Aatroxesque... REWORK! :)

His dance is awful. Sorry to whoever thought it was a good idea, it really wasn't.

And yeah, the new voice doesn't have the inner calm the old one had. The new one isn't bad per se, but it really isn't the same.

He also comes off as a fiercer nasus, which I don't entirely like. A lot of his "guardian" vibe is gone now.

Something I just thought about.

From some of his new lines we might be able to assume that Riot is re-writing Nasus's lore. Perhaps into an ancient being who has always been in Shurima instead of being summoned from another world.

Now, given that Nasus is heavily influenced by Egyptian mythology and looks similar to Anubis, God of Embalming and Death, perhaps Riot is changing his role to match more closely with his inspiration? Perhaps Nasus is now the Curator of Souls, leading the dead into the afterlife? Given his new legendary bearing a resemblance to Cerberus, guard-dog to the gates of the underworld in Greek legend, this re-write seems likely.

Renekton already fits very closely to his inspiration, Sobek, who is described as "a violent, hyper-sexual, and erratic deity, prone to his primal whims." Maybe Riot wants to make Nasus more similar to Anubis where he didn't match up all that well before.

Listening to the new voice with the Anubis/God of Death mindset, it actually works very well. Many of his lines were already about death, burial, withering, etc. Riot just decided to take it further.

Also, if Riot were to ever go back to the librarian idea, they could easily make a mage or support-style champion based on Thoth, the Egyptian god of knowledge and wisdom.

I have to say I disagree. I feel that Nasus' influence is mainly from the Egyptian god Set, who's the god of the desert, storms and chaos. Honestly I've felt that Nasus was too easy-going for what he represented. I especially like how the new Nasus has a more.... Eternal feel to it. But I suppose that's just me.
