Smite Mid?

I was thinking about this yesterday, and i decided to post it to the community. Would this work? With the or and the Warrior/Magus enchant, you could gain a huge boost in kill pressure, prehaps even more than ignite. You would take on melee and on mages. Also, Mids normally can't leash for their junglers. With smite however, the jungler could start blue, you could smite it for bonus mana, and then the jungler could get the buff.
