A Tale of Joy... and a Rant

Earlier today I decided to duo queue with a good friend of mine for a fun game of Ranked 5's. She'd been on a roll lately as she just racked up 3 wins for her first few placement matches, I on the other hand have only ever won 1 ranked match in my entire lifetime... landing myself in a seemingly eternal slot at Bronze 2.

She'd invited me to play and I thought to myself... "Why not? I need the fun... plus I've got nothing left to lose". (Except maybe earn a demotion.) So we played on.

Joined by a team of skilled, positive players, we'd put up quite a fight and eventually secured a win. That was her 4th and my 2nd ranked win. I was ecstatic. Finally! A win after so long! And I'd finally earned 24 LP as well and moved up the League roster.

I was so fired up that I decided to take up her offer on another ranked game. Hoping for the best. However... that enthusiasm and determination soon left us once we'd met our new team... Two players... a Vi and a Taric, found themselves at odds with one another. Leading to several arguments, and refusal to cooperate for the sake of the team... leading to an enormous tilt.

Naturally... This ended in an all too predictable loss. As such, my Ranked losses grew and I'd lost around 14 LP. My rant here stands with this question... Why must other players, or a whole team for that matter, suffer for the petty squabbles of others? Some of us actually want to enjoy the game and play on in peace. Others have a lot riding on certain matches.

It's infuriating... to think that some people could be so inconsiderate and so childish all at once. Is it really so hard to set aside differences for the sake of the team?
