Can icon related backgrounds not be tied to using a certain icon, and just be toggleable?

Just wondering if it'd be possible to not use the icon that gives a certain background for your profile, and be able to use the background anyways as a toggleable/selectable feature. ex. I wanna use the S3 Coast icon but I need to use an Elementalist Lux icon for the background.
