Harsh Behavior can be ignored, avoided, and dealt with in LoL.

Please read before jumping to conclusions.

It could be because I have developed thick skin over the past years, and I do expect some downvotes, but I personally don't believe that aggressive player behavior is a problem on this game. I have always had the luck of encountering people in matches that would condemn me, threaten to kill me, insult me, call me every racial slur in the book, and very few people seem to know the coping mechanisms that I've come to gather.

Firstly, this is a game. So long as people are behind their keyboards instead of right in front of you, their true colors will show. This isn't real life, so we shouldn't expect carebear treatments and blanket rules that can compromise the social community. These people who get angry, troll people in chat, etc, they really don't have much to stand on as far as their superiority goes, despite what boarders they have. Don't let them get to you.

Secondly, the way that I look at it when people insult me or provoke me, is simply that it's funny. There's nothing that makes them more angry than you finding their insults or threats humorous. Nothing that makes them more angry than seeing that you're more level headed than them when they're yelling at you.

I'm sure that the question is about in the heads of many on why I don't see this as much of an issue. There's two reasons. The first one is that there's bad people everywhere you go, every game you play, and it's important to learn how to deal with them (There won't always be a report button for people that upset you). Secondly, with the new map out that causes FPS lag, exploits, and the increase in bots, hackers, and trolls (people that compromise the game), the focus should be on fixing these things so we can get back to playing the game instead of shifting the focus to people calling someone else a poorly-made insult.

I hope I brought some insight, and I hope that I brought some understanding.

I agree completely. While toxicity is a huge issue in the League community, as it has been almost since it came out, it can be completely ignored. Thick skin could be what it is and what helps me 'cope' (I guess you could say), I've been trying to tell my real life friends that I play with that since I've been playing. It's a lot easier than it seems to just ignore people who are insulting you, ESPECIALLY over the internet.

As you said, in a way it is humorous. People have the audacity to insult you and to say cruel things over the internet, just because you're not face to face. I think people should just learn to ignore it more than anything, frankly that's the best way to deal with the inevitable.

Im not going to read much more than the first 2 sentences. Its not difficult to avoid harsh behavior. They have added in the mute function for a reason. There have been multiple games where I get into the match and immediately /mute all because i have no need to speak with my teammates in a blind pick normal. Smart pings should be more than enough along with warding and watching the map. If players harass you mute them, report them and move on to the next match.

People need to get out of the protective bubbles Riot keeps creating, rather than helping, it has been making it worse by the year.

The only people who should be hunted are cheaters and griefers, if little Jimmy cannot fare against the e-bully how is he expected to fare in real life?

Gaming has turned into a cesspool of wussies, I remember back in the days when people had the grapes to make a stand, this creates character believe or not.

When you joined league of legends you agreed to their terms and their terms involve not being a dick to other players plain and simple I for one like the way riot handles this I'm sorry but just because you don't see someones face is no reason to be an all out dick to them there is a certain level of respect everyone deserves and just because you can't see them doesn't mean they don't still deserve it not to mention it has no helpful effect on anyone in the situation for you to trash talk them because of a mistake
