Supporting out of Bronze

Greetings all,

I've been focused on trying to support out of the Bronze Elo. To say this has been difficult is quite the understatement. Its very much like building a house of cards in a hurricane. I feel like I win a game then lose a game and in many cases, feel like no matter how well I play, I have little control over the result of some of the games I've lost. To combat this, I have been focusing in on my own gameplay, recording matches, analyzing what I'm doing well and what I am not doing well in an effort to play better and carry as support more frequently. Despite my efforts, I still seem to win a game then lose a game and to advance in LOL, you need to win 2 out of every 3 games.

The main supports I play are Leona and Nami and from a statistical perspective, my numbers seem reasonably good, in particular for the Bronze Elo.

Some of the tips I have researched have been things that just make sense like duo queue as much as possible, which I do. Another person suggested I play supports that can carry the game like Annie or Lux or Zyra but that usually gets my team upset since I'm stealing kills from the carries. I even had a guy afk a game when I took a single kill unintentionally with Sona (power chord op).

I guess the question I present to the masses is....

Can you support out of the Bronze Elo?

What is the general consensus? I still plan to attempt to do so regardless but i'd like to get any input folks may have out there that I am missing.

Maybe you'll find something there helpful. I was placed in bronze 3 last season and found playing support pretty frustrating to say the least; I switched to ADC and climbed out that way. The difficult thing for me was getting matched with an ADC that would take advantage of opportunities I create as a support, or even one that could CS decently, since many bronze players are still learning the basics of the game (not a strike against bronze players, but most are still just learning the game, no shame in that, everyone had to learn the game at some point). You can absolutely support out of bronze; you have a 60% win rate on Leona, if you played Leona every game you'd climb out eventually (same thing with Sona, and Nami to a lesser degree). I would stick to those three champions if I were you.
