Illaoi not that OP

Hello, I'm a top lane main and I heard people saying that is OP, but i played with and didn't think that.

I started and ( i know doen't use mana but it works well for me ) I rushed e started working on ( not that useful against but i wanted to get them for later ) then got and ( you can see the match in the link btw)

I'm unranked ( i don't like to try hard , just having fun ) the was bronze V ( :P ) we had 3 gold V and a silver V they had Silver V , IV and II and Plat V

Reasons i think might be a counter to :

Kills 's passive from a distance ( works well to remove Vessel )

Can dodge 's E and Q with his E

The new Thunderlord's Decree gives a lot of burst ( AA +Q + AA is a very fast way to proc it )

If 's E gets you you can stun her in mega

tl;dr I think counters

Any one with range and % hp is her counter per say. The skill cap of the illaoi is too small for an accurate representation of how a champion should be used .

Doesn't surprise me Gnar counters her.. Wouldn't surprise me if Kennen countered her too or Quinn

It's mainly Melee people who struggle against her..

I played against her 2 times in a row as Poppy first time i got Smashed... Second time I knew what to expect, Dodging her E most of the time and if she did E me, I would look at the spot she was in and determine weather to all-in her while she was trying to beat my spirit.. If she had no tenticals to smash me, I went ham on her... and managed to not become a vessel most of the time.

She was still stronger than me alone.. but after about 2 successful ganks from my jungler.. i started to be able to beat her.. Sometimes it's all it takes is those two small ganks..

I agree that Illoai can somewhat be very annoying and dominate in lane but if you play smart you might be able to have a successful lane despite being melee.

I destroyed her with Singed . He is too fast for any of her skill shots to hit him and the poison just takes care of everything else. I started 0-2 but after I figured out what she does my first time laning against her it was easy, even with a 0-2 start.
