So my boyfriend is in basic training for the Air Force, but as he and I both have an unhealthy obsession for League, I thought I should keep him updated. I have not actually logged in to post in years; however, this is important. You are an amazing person for doing this and he is lucky to have you. Send him letters as often as possible (it feels like Christmas every time you get one). I know this from experience. Keep being awesome!!!
erindine9 votesYou are so ridiculously sweet!! I've been trying to send one every day. So far I have yet to receive one from him, but from what I've heard they don't get much of an opportunity to write. Writing the letters makes me feel connected to him even though he's not here. Especially since we talk about league when we're together, so why not talk about it when we're apart? :D

I really wasn't trying to showcase my art haha, this didn't take too long, I just wanted to give him a little taste of something familiar while he was in such a different environment. I actually don't know exactly what everything means, but in his call giving me the address, I have the second line of info: B23TRS/FLT313, which I assume indicates his battalion and his flight? I'm not entirely sure, haha, so I'd appreciate any help you have to offer "decoding" it.
Banuvan1 votesNo battalions in the USAF. They are called squadrons. That's his dorm ( B23 ) and his Flight ( 313 ). His squadron will be 320, 321, 322, 323, 326, or 331 and will have the TRS after it. I can tell you based on his dorm number he's in the new dorms which were finished in 2015. He has to go up and down a lot of stairs hahaha.
What week of training is he in and I can give you an idea of how much he's hating life right now. When did he go to Basic?

Yea it's 323 TRS/FLT 313 Dorm 3D2.
3rd week and on is pretty simple for him. Pretty much all drill and dorm classes should be taught and on auto pilot. He starts the academic portion now with some smaller processing things in there as well. If his flight is halfway decent it should be a pretty easy time from here until week 7 when stuff starts getting busy again until graduation. He is in the new dorms (3D2 is the new numbering system ) so atleast he isn't in the old ass dorms that I worked in. I got out right after the new ones opened.
I worked in the 324th, 319th, 326th, and the warehouse while I was an MTI from 2009-2015 with a deployment in 2010 to break it up. You planning on going to graduation? If ya want send me a PM and I can give you tips and such for San Antonio as i'm still living here.

Simple Moon2 votesWhen I went through basic training for the army I had people send me song lyrics because for the love of god I couldn't remember them. It's very nice of you to do and trust me he appreciates it more than you realize. Had league been around at that time I imagine my wife would have done the same. (We both also have a serious addiction to league).

He's the type of person who doesn't ever know the words to songs (he's not very musically inclined, which, as a singer/cellist/violinist I find kinda adorable). I've been trying to get a letter out a day updating him on the world and how things are going back here. It's a very nice thing to actually sit down and write letters! I'm glad to hear you and your wife also share a passion for league. It's a weird thing to say, but I'd argue it definitely brings couples together.
