The last piece of Targon lore
We're talking about Taric here, right? I can't think of another champ it would make sense to put after Aurelion Sol, a brand new champ, unless it's going to be another piece of Sol's lore.

It's clearly going to be Taric, especially since Aurelion Sol has a quote towards Taric.
While not confirmed, its almost a surety. There had been a few other champions that could fit thematically that had been tossed around though (Bard and Malphite, in particular). While I think Bard would suffer thematically by being tied to a specific location, Malphite would have been an excellent candidate for Targonian assimilation.
