[Champion Select] I shouldn't be punished when I'm not the one trolling

So, I had to dodge two games in the last 24 hours to ensure I wouldn't get a troll on my team. And no, by "troll" I don't mean someone who called mid and picked Ashe. I wouldn't even mind about it to be honest. What I mean by "troll" is someone who instalocks a champion, calls a position that doesn't fit and says he will feed/troll/AFK. Riot, you can work on your "gameplay and balance" all you want, but if we can't even get into a game it's useless/pointless.

Make it so we can votekick or votedodge or I don't know. I understand there could be consequences in ranked but I'm sure you guys are smart enough to design something that would work out. SO many topics covered this already and it's still as bad as ever.

Actually I just realized. You guys are working so hard on new champions, new items, new build paths, new skins, etc. But what about the runes system? Meh. What about champion select? Meh.

Where are the teams working for these? They got fired or something? I know I sound arrogant and all, but really I'm not. I just don't understand how such core problems still exist now. I get that they're not easy to deal with, but that should be one more reason to focus on them instead of letting them be.

People that trolls in champion select should receive punishment and more over, I shouldn't be punished when I'm not the one trolling.

Yes. Why the fuck hasn't league done something about trolls. They update other shit they don't need to, But leave trolls to be free. Fuck you Riot. You make a great game, but don't even know what troll are. CONGRATULATIONS

I'm confused about how you're being punished. Did you receive a ban or restriction of some sort?

Or are you referring to the dodge penalty?

In less than 24 hours I got 20 minutes wait time total for absolutely nothing + waiting to get a game was a good two to three minutes longer than usual. But that's not the most frustrating part. The most frustrating part is, these people who caused this for me probably kept on doing so and caused it for others, ruining a lot of people's time. They can literally keep on forcing someone to dodge (or otherwise they'll troll and you'll lose anyway) at every champion select screen they reach.

So here's the thing about the dodge penalty. Without it, this statement is more true: "Riot, you can work on your "gameplay and balance" all you want, but if we can't even get into a game it's useless/pointless."

Allowing players to dodge at will would massively increase queue times as players dodge team after team looking for just the one they want. Worst-case scenario, nobody ever actually gets into a match again. Best-case scenario, queue times triple.

This is why I'm saying there should be a Champion Select system to report trolls while picking champions, be it by votekicking or votedodging. I don't know, if 4 people out of 5 would agree to dodge because X player is trolling, then the X player would get a dodge penalty and the other 4 people won't get anything. Thus, the troll will be punished while the good players won't.

I think there should be a vote to kick available in pre-game.

Sadly, something like this would be subject to far too much abuse and presents too many problems.

People could vote-kick players who refused to play a certain role or champion.

People could vote-kick players who did not agree to a pre-arranged tactic.

People could look up a players ranking, match history or experience with a champion and use that to decide whether or not that person was worthy of playing with them.

Time spent on a vote detracts from an already short amount of time to build a team.

Discussion of the vote, either before or after, would lead to bad feelings and toxicity.

Credit to Matthias9119: Heroes of Newerth had a vote-kick system, but removed it due to abuse.

It would be quite the feat to get FOUR people out of FIVE to bash on ONE other player and thus punish him, even for the reasons mentionned above. Or real douchebags. Well at least now trolling would be an activity that actually requires cooperation with other people! I feel we're one step in the right direction guys!

I've seen it happen before. Actually, I see it in pretty much every game where toxicity shows itself. Sometimes it's the team ganging up against the toxic player. Sometimes it's the toxic player inciting the team against someone else. It already happens.

Giving it genuine power seems like a terrible idea to me. Judging by the fact that they haven't implemented such a system, despite people talking about it for years now, I suspect Riot thinks there's some concerns as well.

Yes, but this gappens INGAME, AFTER the person probably FED TO DEATH. Which is impossible to accomplish in champ select.

It happens in-game more often, but I've seen it plenty in champ select, too.

Then let's put a system that can also report these people! A pre-match report system which punishes bad behavior, be it trolling or abusing the tool. Good. Brilliant. There, fixed.

That seems to compound a couple of the issues with vote-kicks in general. Specifically:

Time spent on a vote detracts from an already short amount of time to build a team.
Discussion of the vote, either before or after, would lead to bad feelings and toxicity.

While I really don't like not being able to report players who are toxic at champ select (particularly if someone dodges), I also don't want to see a system that encourages negative attitudes at champ select.

Of course, that's just my opinion.
