There is something wrong with the new PFE, here is why.

As much as I was excited to hear that PFE was getting updated (Im an Ezreal main and have been for years), seeing the result left me very disappointed. While I am amazed that Riot would spend that much in resources to update a 5 year old skin, I feel like they were misplaced and misused. Here are a few of the issues I have with it in no particular order.

1. The colour scheme was fine, why get rid of it ? The bright Blue and Silver was a great colour scheme that was held back by what are now mediocre textures. The new model has much better textures, but the colour scheme is drab and dull in my opinion, contrasting to the older model, while it looks higher in detail it looks worse because the colour scheme is inferior and boring. You have teal, dark blue, bright blue, brown, silver, and grey. This creates a super busy model with an inconsistent feel at both a model and an ability level. While the original PFE still had brown, it was much less apparent due to the much more muted brown used and the stronger silver and blue colours used. I understand you are trying to create a consistent scheme with PFC, but I would argue that both just have a terrible colour scheme that lacks any real contrast.
2. The effects were never the problem While I appreciate the new effects, I feel like they solved a problem that never existed. Comparing them side by side, the Q looks like a blob now, the W looks less clean, E looks super dull, and the ult, well it looks super weak. I know this is subjective but comparing them side by side the effects just look inferior, maybe adjusting to the older effects colour would make them look better, as of now they just look terrible to use.
3. You didn't fix the main aesthetic problem with PFE If you asked anyone who owned the skin what the main problem aesthetically with the skin, it would be that in order for it to look good, they have to get to level 16. This hasnt been fixed with the new model and for many people they will never get to see a skin worth the money they paid for it. What I would have done is either get rid of the base model and the first upgrade, and have the third model as your base, with the full upgrade coming at 11. This allows there to still be some degree of advancement, while still allowing the player to enjoy their skin every game.
4. There is no consistency. Across the board it feels like a bunch of different ideas were thrown at PFE. None of his abilities feel like there is any relation to each other. If you look a the original PFE, you will see that they were modeled on Ez's original abilities which follow a similar formula but with a key difference. A. they still followed a consistent colour scheme(As previously mentioned), but followed two models (Q and E were missiles for single target damage, W and R were waves for AOE damage), their designs matched their purpose and it fit. The new model doesn't follow this thematic approach and really suffers. Also, his autos, we need to talk about it. I never understood the previous complaints, but having looked at those autos. They look absolutely terrible and clunky, I couldn't believe it when I saw it. Unless its a bug, in which case ignore this part. The projectiles don't even come from the arm cannon. Why does he even have it ? Sorry, but there is nothing redeemable about those autos in my eyes.

I dont want to make it sound like I am hating or raging at the designers, because that's not the point of this. I sincerely appreciate that they would revisit such an old skin and try to modernize it. Unfortunately I do not like their approach and am glad that I have gotten many years out of the skin, because if this is what hits live, I will likely never use it again. And for those who do like it, I am glad you are all enjoying it and hope it helps you enjoy what was always an amazing skin. For me this skin is basically dead to me, and that's okay since i'm just a customer, you don't owe me anything. I just want to let you know my opinion on the matter, because for the best skin for my favourite champion ever, it matters to me.
