Matchmaking Sacrificial Lambs
TL;DR : Matchmaking frequently sets up obviously favored teams, or has a sacrifical lamb. Perhaps this is caused because MMR can be skewed by skill with one champion, but is exploited when learning other champs. Plz Fix. This should be happening to Bronze and Silver because the player base is so huge.
Scenario 1: Team A has 4 Bronze (1-5) and a Silver 4, Team B has 1 Plat or higher, 2 gold and 2 Silver (1-2). In what world does Team A have the MMR to warrant that? it can't be a roles thing. Rito please work on this. I see this often.
Scenario 2: Team A has Plat and high Gold, Team B has Plat and 1 Silver 4 (me this morning). Queue time took less that 2 seconds. Team B puts up a fight, but Team A is 5v4 +1 feeder (me, 5/11/5 on a champ I'm just learning, so not the worst it could have been) and Team A basically just slowly builds their lead until it's insurmountable. How is the fun for the 4 on my team? How is this fun for me, despite my best efforts, being severely outclassed?
This same thing happened this afternoon, except instead of me being the weak link we had a Bronze 4 jungler in a game where Silver 4 (me) was the next lowest rank and the rest of the players in the game were mid silver-plat. For reference, there were 3 plat in the game and 2 were on the opposite team of the Bronze 4. This jungler ended 2/17/9 and about 1/3 cs as his opposing jungler. Bronze and Silver are the biggest player base, so why is this guy in a game with mostly Gold and Plat?
Note: the only explanation I can conceive for why I was in a gold/plat game being a lowly S4 is that I had been spamming a champ in Norm queue that I was practicing and getting good with. To the point where I felt comfortable playing against G5 lane opponent and even dominated lane for most of the time against them. However, since I decided to start spamming a new champ, I was back to crappy S4 skills, but with a Gold5ish MMR?
Perhaps the community misunderstands MMR or the amount of players online at any given time, if this is the case, Riot could post an automatic updating statistics indicating how many players from each rank/ mmr are online and how many are available to queue (not in a game already)
