Why is there no way to get RP for free? Ideas:

Ok, so I'm a veteran player who began in season 3 and who is nearing their 1,000th game. I've bought RP cards like a lot of other people, but what if there were ways that summoners could gain RP without having to pay money. After all, league of legends is a free-to-play game. And by the way, I'm not talking about winning hundreds of RP every day, but I'm just saying that after 1,000 games, shouldn't I have earned a skin? Here are my thoughts of gaining RP.

-You know that first win of the day bonus? I've probably earned Tens of Thousands of IP from it, but what if it gave us RP? I mean, it's convenient, and it brings players back to the game every day for a win. If it only gave 5 RP per win, it would be a nice start for people to have just a little RP to be like the cool kids. -The ranked ladder is a nice place to prove your skills, and I think that after the year is over, people should receive RP based on how they did. It doesn't even have to be that much- maybe 50 for bronze or up to 500 for diamond. I may not want to grind plat for the loading border, but maybe all I need is a few more RP's for Spirit Guard Udyr. -The tribunal is a great place where summoners decide how another not so kind summoner should be treated, but what if we were awarding RP for having a clean player record? After all, the players with clean records would appreciate it, and maybe a small 100 RP reward might keep hundreds of summoners motivated to behave well. -Let me add that I very much appreciate the contests that Riot hosts like the League-o-Lantern, so thanks for that!

I may sound a bit stingy for asking this, but I'm sure almost all of the player base will agree. We're not even asking that much. After all, RP can be used to make a deal on both ends. Riot can use it to get what they want (like well behaved summoners, for example) and we get what we want, RP! I want someone from Riot to see this, it would be hard to deny us this right!

I agree, I also agree with your summoner icon choice. Or maybe a mystery gift for aforementioned reasons.

Here's the thing; if they did that, they would need to raise prices on all the skin to compensate, because they can't afford to decrease their earnings. The whole point of having walled content unless you pay is to get people to pay, and that isn't unreasonable. It costs them money to run the game, and if you love it, you should be willing to pay a little to them for their service. That's how a business works.

As I said, if they started shelling out RP for free, then the skin prices and champ prices would need to go up so they could keep earning money. Also, it they tie money to game playing, you inevitably increase botting problems, which I'm sure they want to avoid as much as possible.

I see why you would want this for the players, but I believe this would actually be bad for the game in the long run. I hope they don't do something like this, for the sake of the game. No offense intended to you.

lol. microtransactions are the way Riot pays their bills. do you think skins make themselves? there are real people behind content creation who need real money to support a real family. Riot employs thousands of people and they all need a salary. You are getting a game that you can play for free, where you can (in time) get all champs for free whose default skin is not bad at all. and you want free RP. You are insane! Do you want in game ads or product placement in the game? that would be another way for Riot to make money, but they chose not to do that, which i am glad for!

IF you want "free" rp you should look into riot sponsored tournaments...victorious gaming is a good one i recommend looking into that its everynight and over the past year ive won my fair share of rp from them

ok lets try to calculate the "$ value of IP"

anyone well versed in math may please correct me if i am wrong! I invite you too. This is an intellectual exercise by a math moron!

the cheapest RP you can buy costs $5 and gets you 650RP (that's without the bonus you get for higher cards) we conclude: 130RP cost $1

that means a 975 skin costs $7,50 usually the 975RP skins cost 6300 IP. so every 840IP you earn in the game has the buying equivalent of 130RP or $1

Do you see that with every game you win you get 15-25 cents in IP for free?

True, you can not buy skins with that, but sometimes summoner icons and always champs and runes!

edit: I just checked. I have the equivalent of $61 or close to 8000RP in IP at the moment! I already have all champs and also have all the runes i need though. LOL

There are actual RP generators out there but you need to know the people who came up with them or pay to get them and there are lots of scams and viruses as well as it is common practice in social engineering to get systems infected for botnets.

There is a way to get RP for free, actually. I'm not going to say it straight up because I don't want Riot to remove it, but even if they found it I don't think they would. It revolves around a cruddy engine and much typing.
