Should my iMac be running League a lot smoother?

I've tried league at it's lowest setting. Adjusting everything from resolution to closing apps in the background. However the frame rate is terrible and league is unplayable. Please do not say "get windows". I've played on a mac before for league and it's amazing honestly, but is mine just outdated? Any help is really appreciated!

P.S: I have tried all things on the forum for increasing playability for OS League..

Thanks for your review on the matter.

I just got an imac 5,2 and wanted to know if upgrading my Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6 to Mac OS X Lion 10.7 was worth it so I can play league. Since league recommends "Mac OS X 10.7.5 or higher." Looks like the answer is no. So i'll just leave it in the living room for browsing & display purposes only.

Mine's the same as yours just different Software.
