Riot Server Issues are Ridiculous

My question: How does a company worth over a billion dollars fail to fix simple patch mistakes or server issues?

The fact that people have spent hundreds of dollars on this game, only to have disconnect after disconnects or afk's on their team is outrageous. A company as successful as Riot should have no trouble fixing these issues, but so far all I've seen from their part is things such as:We are aware of the disconnects that players are experiencing. For now, Ranked Queues have been disabled and Loss Forgiven has been enabled. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I might be less annoyed if it seemed as if they were actually trying to fix these problems, yet they just want to release more patches that cause even more issues. I personally am done buying RP for a long while until actual improvement happens.

Thanks for reading my rant!

Hola, if you're curious on what the issue actully was for the worst bit of dc's/lag for the last 2 weeks: here ya go. Although things have settled down now from what I can tell.

And as for them doing something about it, here ya go. Just because everyone's shouting 'Riot's doing nothing! omg!' in GD doesn't mean it's actually true. It's just easy to claim the problem's easy to fix and the big company's lazy instead of actually looking around a bit.

So uh, you realize the problem isn't always with Riot's servers. I rarely, if EVER get lag or get dc'd in a game. There was ONE time i got disconnected in game, but that was during a live maintenance, and they'd posted that problems might arise.

There are several potential problems here that Riot has no control over, short of giving us all top-rate Internet Service Providers, brand new alienware computers, and upgrading the ENTIRE GLOBAL INTERNET INFRASTRUCTURE.

If you don't want lag, consider:

  • Switching ISPs
  • Getting a new computer
  • Closing all other prongrams while you play LoL
  • Playing at 3 in the morning when there's less internet traffic
  • Moving in to one of Riot's Server farms (IDK if that's a thing)
  • Building a complex magnetic field (and turning your room into a Faraday Cage), that suppresses all other wireless connections in your apartment building (or city, if you're ambitious)
  • Giving Riot all your money with the stipulation that they have to fix everything they possibly can (which might not be much, but hey, they'd have more money to develop cool skins and stuff)
  • Going out and doing something IRL (like a date, or a nice long walk on a beach, or climbing a tree, or finding a job, or painting pictures, or cleaning your room/house)
