[SUGGESTION]Ward Buffs

So I am a MAJOR Support-Main... And I love that wards are now a free item, but I still find myself dealing with ADC types who will only use their slot4 on the bush right by our tower(and not deep enough to get full vision with the new vision system) and expect me to ward the river, both the tribushes, and the enemies towerbush(For those counting along, that's one more than I possibly could ward ever...) and then even more once we enter the roaming phase!

My proposal is to have a VERY lightweight buff come from proper use of all wards, and have special enchantments that can be put on your trinket to make the buff different/better. The initial buff might be based on your trinket such as a health regen of 1hp/10 second for the red trinket, 1mp/10 second for the blue, and +1% hp/mp for the green, or it may be the same for anyone with any trinket. The buffs would be applied based on wards or trinkets used in bushes mostly, and you would get the enchantments applied to the trinket like the boot enchantments.

Some ideas I have for buffs/enchantments:

  • If it reveals an enemy champion that otherwise would not be seen you get 1 gold(once per champion per 15 seconds)
  • Every time you ward properly you get 5 gold(3-7 gold maybe)
  • If the ward is destroyed prematurely some of the cooldown of your trinket is refunded
  • If you remain still for 10 seconds within 100(+champion level)% of any friendly ward's view range, you gain the oracle buff
  • Allied champions entering view range of the ward gain +10% speed buff for 3 seconds or until they leave the view range

Anyway, these are just a few ideas I had for buffs, just to get the ball running...

Zilean

OMG!!!

That's an amazing idea. It has to be done ASAP. Im also a maain support Zilean at times, and I would love to see those wards to come to fruition. Its just such a game changer all around. I know for exactly that months ago, some items were taken out of the game that granted mana regen buff and health regen buff to your allies. A weird call on that decision. If translated to this ward buff idea, it would make up from those previous withdrawn items.

That was part of my reasoning. Used to be a support could get mana font VERY early, like by 5 minutes in most games, but now it takes until about 8-9 if you do well to get the same mana regen to just yourself...

There's also still not enough incentive for mid lane to buy wards any more than the trinket, from what I've seen they always just ward one side, and hang towards that side so that they can see the jungler coming from further. Or they don't even bother that much.

jannas passive is a 5% speed buff to nearby units, the wards should do less.

idea for an enchantment would be to allow 1 more ward of each type to be placed at once

another idea for an enchantment would be giving the wards more health, possibly giving 5 to the stealth wards and 7 to the vision wards

I honestly don't really like any of those ideas. Warding to me seems more like an art, rather than something perfect and exact. What really constitutes proper use of a ward?

Maybe the cooldown refund on the trinket if you destroy a ward or something. That would even make dealing with Teemo shrooms much easier, but it would vamp up the vision wars with everyone trying to destroy wards, depending on how long the reduction was. And it might be unfair at times.

Personally though, I really only feel like vision wards are lacking something atm.

i think it would be better if they just increased the amount of wards that a trinket can place. ( after level 9 ). So from:

Levels 1 - 9 = 1 ward Levels 9 - 17 = 2wards Level 18 = 3stealth or 1vision

But you can already place up to 3 wards... That would not fix the problem with people who demand that supports should be warding all five bushes near the bot lane... It'd make it worse...
