School/career help needed!

Hi, I'm in grade 11, going to grade 12 (hopefully) and I need help in deciding the correct career path I should take. I want to become a 3d artist, but have been swaying to wanting to become a programmer. I need help in deciding what I should become, and what high school courses I might need for them. I live in Canada, if that's any help :) By programmer, I mean as in learning JavaScript and html and all that fun stuff. I need help in deciding what university/ college courses I would need to cater to. Any help is appreciated and thanks for taking the time to help.
