Not usually one to complain on the forums

I'm playing ranked 3's with my friends, and we're in and out of our promos to get gold V. We are all Silver players, both in TT and SR. My question is, if our team is sitting right around an even record, 35-33, why are we constantly being matched with players that are platinum? Diamond? Even the occasional Master level opponent. It doesn't make sense. I understand needing to prove yourself to get to the next tier, but this is just dumb. I would underrstand if we were trying to promo into platinum, but we're not. We're silver 1. Does anyone have any insight into this that I'm missing?
