Singed had absolutely no place in that game.
SSW lost solely based on that singed pick. He could have picked just about anyone else.

Singed was meant to shut Maokai down, which would have worked without those early kills on Mao. That combined with the focus on Singed afterwards hindered his power spike. He didn't even get to build a Rylai's.
My guess is the Rammus pick was a way to taunt him into picking an uncommon champ as well...ooh, no pun intended.
Pretty sure Looper picked Singed because he wanted Singed to be part of the team comp that won worlds. He picked him in game 3, didn't pick him when they lost for game 4, and he wants a SSW singed skin. This is just conjecture on my part, but I know he wants a SSW singed skin, and if Singed won worlds, it'd probably be more likely.
