not gonna say i'm good, i'm probably complete crap and need a lot of improvement. but what i don't understand is, how am i supposed to take on a team alone if people completely throw. i know i have my fair share of throws, and i don't rage in chat for that reason. also i have a friend who was in gold before reset, and is having issues now that he was placed bronze 3 ( by choice). I've practiced a lot of things, such as cs and paying attention to the map, ganking lanes and putting pressure on my lane opponent. and I've won more games because of it, but it doesn't seem to be enough. should i make a smurf? or is it possible to climb?

Whether or not it is possible to climb is entirely based off of your personal skill. As far as things like throws and bad teammates, that happens in every single ranked tier, even challenger. It's just a part of the game genre that is a MOBA. Not every game is winnable, but smurfing is, in my opinion, unfair to the other people that have to play against it, depending on your individual skill level and the level of the smurf account.

Find a friend to duo with. it makes it 1 less person who can under perform, and one more person you know well that can make the game more comfortable in ranked.

Climbing isn't going to happen solely off of a streak of wins. Your individual skill should (give or take a few points of course) be reflected in your Win/Loss ratio. Unfortunately this does mean losses will happen, but don't be discouraged by losses, learn from them and make sure not to continue playing during a losing streak, as that usually means frustration->worse play->loss->frustration, etc. The more you imporve the higher your W/L ratio should be and the faster you should climb. Other than that I wish you good luck.
