I've been in quite a few games with people using bots to spectate their game and tell them the timers in chat. I personally hate this, and have even scolded someone for using it, but i just want to know: is this against the rules?
Probably if the bot is a program that was installed into the league client.

As long as you have vision of the buff when it goes away, you have a timer in your tab menu. If you don't ward your own buffs and they get counterjungled, maybe your team needs to get more wards. I personally always get a sightstone when I'm jungling, no reason to not have the timers.
