So I got a New PC.

My old pc was barely able to run league, it ran 20-30 FPS normally with all settings on very low and sounds off. (Scary, right?) Now, i fixed a PC that cost me like $1500 because i tried to install linux on it, and i had no idea how to fix it, well i fixed it, i installed arch linux on it for the mean time and now I run windows on it. How should I test out the full potential of this PC? I'm thinking maybe using lee sin on all settings very high, sounds all the way up with my headphones on, and just chilling and insecing everyone left and right. Let me know what you think I should do. Thanks

That processor seems pretty weak. Is it to late to get a newer model? The old i7 are really dated, especially since they're outclassed by recent i3 (~2.3GHz). Intel themselves have already ended support on it.

I'd recommend going to Start Menu Right Click My Computer Click Properties Run Windows Index Test

That'll just give you some insight as to how your computer does by today's standards...

If you're serious about gaming, Fallout 4 is where you want to go.

Yeah man, it seems pretty weak tbh but its super huge compared to my old pc, thats why im happy what happend was a friend of mines that fked the computer up while trying to install linux gave it to me for 1.5k and i fixed it up, i installed arch linux onto it and then got playonlinux and installed the media creation tool onto a bootable usb. Its about 1 year old, but as i said, its a huge upgrade compared to my old one, it ran 20 fps ish at all settings very low and sounds off.

Im happy just because i went from 30 fps all settings very low to 280 fps all settings high, and its 2.00 GHz without overclocking, it has a built in overclock that can boost it to abut 3.00 GHz

Uh, go look at the video that asus put on their youtube channel for G73. The middle button in the top left can turn on overclock and turn it off.

I have boost, too. Up to 3.5GHz

2.4GHz is probably a minimum bar for good gaming.

But like I said, 1.5 Grand for an old laptop is just a ripoff to me. You could've at least gotten a Mac, so we could go "Oh, you're one of those."

The full potential of that PC will never be touched by League. League is designed to run on cheaper computers, a $600 or so computer can run the game at max settings no problem. So unless you payed way too much, that computer won't be phased by League.

Oh it's a laptop. Also i7's come in that low of GHz? For the same price, you could have built a pretty damn good desktop. A $1500 laptop is like a $1000 or less computer with an extra $500 slapped on cause it has the utility of being portable...if not more.

But to answer your question, find some benchmarking software. I hear the Crysis 3 Skybox test was pretty good.
