Why don't people understand and/or appreciate supports?

Okay, so I just finished a game of legend of the poro king, and well the people at the end where kinda salty... I finished with a pretty good score (4/8/34).

But the Fizz had(28/18/14) So we lost but this fizz was saying i was r%%%%%ed and how i must never play this game cuz i suck so much... but i landed every hook and saved lots of people with my dark pasage :/ Everyone was saying "omg, Fizz you're so good" and they told me "if you would of been better we would of won..." so my question is "Why don't people understand and/or appreciate supports?"
