Why

So i bought a lot of red envelope tickets and rerolled alot of skins, but when you reroll 3 skins shards into a skin permanent, why should you get a skin to a character you dont even have? It's stupid and please change it.[zombie-brand-mindblown]

One reason would be so that you're unable to target skins by owning a limited champion pool. Mystery Gifts have the restriction that you must have at least 10 unowned skins for champions you own because they only award you skins for champions you have; it would kind of suck to purchase or earn boxes and be unable to get skins that are available to you.

Another reason might be to encourage you to expand your champion pool, and play them too. This idea may be reinforced by the fact that you can only earn 1 chest per champion per season, which accomplishes the same thing.

If you do not want to use Hextech Loot for skins of champions you do not own (or play to own), I recommend not rerolling the shards, instead opting to save them up and craft those you want, paid for with essence from the ones you don't. That is why you have that option.

It goes into your permanent pool if you have the champ. Otherwise, it goes in your loot.

Idk about most things but this has been what happened to me.

The way the system works now, it heavily encourages you to pay real money to buy more chests to get something for a champion you own, or hell, even just buy the champion. If they change it, they lose money. Don't expect it.

So you don't have only Ezreal , {{champion:,77}} Sona, and Lux unlocked then have a higher chance of getting an ultimate.

The "Why?" is because the idea of Hextech Crafting is that it provides discounted, random content to serve the market of players who want to spend money to collect large amounts of skins and characters for their chosen game. I may not particularly like the whole system, but that is what it is. It's there to give large amounts of discounted content for those players who want to collect it and want to spend significant amount of money to get it, to enable them to spend to get themselves more, and their spending also allows the free players who don't spend money to get some free stuff as well. It's not stupid. The purpose of the system is to enable these players to buy with the option of "large discount but random", which they do because they want a lot of content.

What you want do is remove the random portion, which would make Hextech crafting effectively "Large discounts on everything" and that is something that will never fly.

P.S. It should just be another reason for you not to reroll, because even with your suggestion you can reroll and get a skin you don't like. If you don't want random, don't take the "random" option and reroll.

its to stop selective skin hoarding im pretty sure and i'm also pretty sure thats why the personalised shops aren't returning despite what many people may think.
