Game client crashes, then I'm punished for it.

My client recently crashed while I was in champion selection for ranked solo Que. I sent the error report in with the message that popped up. I log back on checked my LP and I had lost points and on top of that had a fifteen minute ban from playing ranked. There has to be some kind of way to tell the difference between someone leaving and a Client closing without the users permission. This isn't the first time this has happened to me, I even lost my promotion series because of it. I know this may not even be a wide spread problem, but it is really hard to want to play a game when it crashes and you are further punished for it.
