Can't we do a better job of dealing with leavers?
I just played a game where there was an AFK entire game. Guy didn't make one play, stayed in base entire time. Why should I lose LP for this?

Because somewhere down the line, somebody on the other team will AFK and you'll win LP that you shouldn't have.
It's kinda missing the point of a rating system to draw conclusions - or assume that conclusions should be drawn - from a single game. Elo attempts to reflect your skill as a function of every single game you ever play.
