Is this legal?

My roomie just finished his 10 seeding games in ranked.. He got Bronze V... Honestly he is at that level.
And then he told me that he bought an account in Plat III. And he is now playing ranked.... I'm spectating his game. Terribly unskilled, super feeder... Since his new account is in Plat division.. If he keeps playing ranked, he will never fall into Gold. But I don't think he deserves a position in Plat and I really believe that he will not improve cuz he has been playing for one year without any improvement... I'm wondering.. is his behavior acceptable? should he be banned from ranked?

The account should be permanently banned for being sold, actually. It's Riot's policy.

First you can fall from plat to gold and from gold to silver.I don't think is ilegal since if he plays very bad he will get back to bronze.Is just a matter of time.

If he plays like he has been on his original account I would assume (unless it has been changed again) he will go back to bronze. It's not longer a once you hit a certain rank it stays that way. It hasn't been like that since what season 2? And that is assuming riot hasn't caught on that its a sold account. I would think that account and maybe his original would get banned but I'm not sure what the rules are about that. It's a shame that that is how people think they belong in a certain rank. They believe that they cannot climb so instead resort to buying a "fresh" account only to have that bump to their original ranking, this repeating the system! I can only hope assuming you have some evidence you could let riot know so they can sort that out. I cannot even think how people on his team are dropping because of people like him!
